Aikido
During the first half of the 20th century a Japanese man named Morihei Ueshiba developed a new martial art named Aikido. Literally translated, the word Aikido means "harmony energy way." This is a perfect name for the art since at its core it is designed to neutralize opponents (and thus create harmony) by controlling and redirecting their energy instead of blocking it.
For anyone who has ever learned a martial art, the quantity of moves that need to be remembered can often feel daunting. It is usually a good idea to own some type of reference material that can be used as a learning aid. Until recently, most Aikidoka had to rely on notes or videos that often overlooked many important details. Aikido 3D is a new software that provides students and teachers with a deep resource of detailed information that is easy to use.
Aikido 3D was created with the help of actual Aikido instructors. By using motion capture and computer animation we have created a library of techniques that can be viewed from all angles. Students can play the animations at various speeds, zoom in and out, listen to step-by-step instructions and learn the name and meaning for over 100 different techniques.
Not only is Aikido 3D a powerful reference tool, it is also an indispensable learning instrument. Like many martial arts, Aikido relies on a proper understanding of details. By using the many tools included in Aikido 3D students can actually improve their technique and learn things that they may have overlooked. In fact, students can actually study each move required for their particular testing level--helping them ensure they are successful come promotion time.
